Diy Brick Fireplace Surround

As a quick story behind this makeover back in 2018 i decided to change the current tile on the fireplace that we installed over the brick back in 2012.

Have you long been starting at your old fashioned brick fireplace and surround and wondering how best to update it without actually having to tear the whole thing out. Well we re pleased to tell you that your patience has finally paid off. Additional corbels were added and a board for the mantel top was cut to sit on top of the crown molding and to fit around the brick. I wanted to hug all of your necks.

We mostly cy worked so hard on that fireplace surround so it was great for us to read all the great positive feedback. Before we could tile the hearth we covered the brick with 1 4 inch mdf. Next was caulk nail screw filler sanding and priming since the crown molding was prefinished cherry wood we made sure the surface was clean and then used zinsser bin shellac primer this primer adheres really well and sands beautifully. I felt like y all were giving us a bunch of high fives and it was awesome.
